Saving up for Jess

Diana already earned her money for Jess at our garage sale. But she sold some pretty big items that we just decided we didn't want to pay to move, like her Little Tykes girl sized play house. That wasn't a bad investment though, we got it 2nd had the day after she came home from Russia, my aunt found it for only $75. We sold it for $65. She played in it for 3 years for only $10!
She also sold a FP farm, baby doll in high chair, blackboard, and a play kitchen. I think she made enough for the initial collection, and maybe momma will have to spring for any extras that come out!
I'm very excited to hear that Jess has a new face mold too!

When I expressed to DH that I was unsure about buying Jess, he said, "But if she's only around for a year, don't you have to have her to go with Lindsey, Kailey and whatserface [pointing]?" (He does pretty well, considering. He remembered which ones were LEs.)

I've been selling Marisol and her things lately, and that will go toward Christmas expenses. I am hoping the Lot of Insanity will give be a bit of a profit (although hubby thinks I should KEEP Lindsey, because "two is better than one, right?") I have two more Marisol dolls, three Rascal sets and three doll stands that I can sell as well. I also have two paid sewing projects coming up in January. On all my Christmas lists, I included American Girl under "good places for gift certificates," so that's a possibility.

So... I think I'll be okay for getting Jess, if I decide I want her. What I'm really hoping for is a trip to Chicago to see her in person!
